The End of the End...

Today is the last day of my undergraduate chapter of my life. I have a final in my writting class tonight, and I posted my evaluation of my blogging class earlier. This could very well be my last day on campus at UCO ever. This is super weird...

Well, I had a blast, I learned a lot about photography and writing, and I discovered a lot about myself. The future is a little fuzzy right now. My ultimate dream job is to be the Director of Photography at Rollingstone Magazine. So, it's only up from here I guess. Graduate school is probably a must...so I will be working on my art portfolio over the next year or so. I would love to go to California, New York, or Las Vegas for art, so let's make it happen!!!

I can't believe I don't have any more finals to take after today. Whoa.

Blogging Class Evaluation

1. How would I improve the class?

To improve this class I would try to incorporate more mini assignments. It's hard for me to micro-manage myself, so I had a hard time coming up with things to do or write everyday.

2. What was the most valuable part of class?

The most valuable part is that I get to leave this class with a pretty well developed blog.

3. What was the least valuable?

The least valuable was time spent when the whole class was silent, staring at their screens.

4.Would the book Google Blogging for Dummies help?

I think so. Just a little more curriculum would probably help.

Medical Update

Yup, they cut me open yesterday while I was AWAKE, awesome.
My husband took such great care of me all day yesterday. It was fantastic.
Today I will be looking for ways to serve him.
So, turns out it was about a 4 inch absess. The doctor stuck a huge needle in my armpit to numb it, and then cut it open with a knife. Only 5 minutes after the proceedure the medicine wore off, and it still feels like someone cut me open with a knife. It's lovely.
Honeymoon update! We booked a trip to Napa Valley in 2 weeks! So excited! My husband rented a convertable Mustang as well...suh-weet.

Falls Creek Weekend

This was my family's trip to Falls Creek to visit my little sister who was staying there for the week. Overall experience was not as awesome as it was when I was 15. It was still good, though. It was good to see Sarah and be back at the place where I met Jesus.

P.S. my arm isn't any better, so I am going in for a surgery consultation this morning.
grrr needles and stuff.

This is my sister, Sarah.

This would be my other sister Emily.

Thursday Morning

I will be blogging from home today. I have to go to the doctor. I have had a lump on my armpit (yup gross) for a couple of weeks. This morning it is finally painful enough to do something about it.

Coming up: A series of images I shot of my three year old sister! So cute.

Honeymoon Confusion

It's a little late, I know.
My husband and I have been married for 3 weeks and are so cunfused trying to pick a honeymoon spot. We can't go out of the country just yet, because we are still waiting on David's green card to get here. Otherwise, we had an Italian honeymoon already planned and partially booked. Image getting upsetting green card news two seconds away from Italy. We want to go to Hawii or the California coast now, I think. We deffinately are looking for a quiet tropical place that caters to honeymooners. We have checked out some resorts like Turtle Bay in Oahu and the St. Regis in California. Anyone been to an awesome place that we should check out?
Let me know!

The Father Land

These are some images I took over the past 5 years in Germany.

I first started traveling to Germany during my high school exchange in 2005. After making loads of friends I couldn't stop going back. Germany is so beautiful. I don't think anyone could fully capture it on film, but I have made it a life long goal.

Yanks vs. Brits

USA vs. England
1:1

Thank you Robert Green. I hope England forgives you, because we do.
The sports photography for the world cup is amazing. Check some moe photos out here:

www.fifa.com

I have learned so much about soccer in the past couple of days. I hope that America becomes more educated about soccer in the future. I feel so out of the loop during the world cup. I also hope that one day America can walk on to a soccer field with the stats on our side. I feel as though England walked on today like the Lakers with way too much confidence. They were unprepared for our defense.

Ready, Set, SNOW

For ten years my family has owned one of the most successful traditional outdoor snow cone stands in Oklahoma if not the world. It's called Tasty Snow. It all started as an idea my dad had one day after church. A lady we knew was selling her stand. Everyone thought we were crazy for buying it, and then we thought we were crazy a couple years in. After remodeling the stand multiple times to create room for the traffic, in 2007 we decided it was time to expand. We opened two more stands in Midwest City, OK creating a place for people to eat snow at any park in the city.

My father is brilliant, self sacrificial, and hilarious. Come hang out with Dave at Tasty Snow. He is full of stories and love for his customers and his family.
We have had so many adventures in this snow cone stand.
Come on in...

LOOK FORWARD TO THIS.

Coming soon to Shutterscheck:

lots and lots of Tasty Snow pictures!!
Ever wonder what it's like to be around a snowcone stand everyday of your summer life for the past ten years? I will show you!!

Check me out after this super hot weekend.

Meet Stephen

This was my latest Senior shoot. We had a lot of fun, and he played me some songs.
Great kid.

I'm a Nerd.

Sooo...
Today I woke up early, made breakfast, and headed to school 30 minutes away from where I live. I am taking a blogging class this summer...hence the blog. To my surprise the parking lot was empty, and I forgot it was Friday. Since I don't have class on Friday, I got to do the drive of shame back home this morning! Yup, that's my life.
IN OTHER NEWS
I saw The Prince of Persia last night with my husband at the Warren Theater. That was my first time to sit in the balcony, and I was super impressed by the seat warmers...it doesn't take much I guess. Anyways, the film was directed by Mike Newell and Jake Gyllenhaal played the role of Dastan. On imdb.com this film received a 6.9/10 rating. I thought the photography was fantastic. I was expecting another lame action movie, but there was a splash of romance. I totally think this movie makes up for the manliness that Jake lost in Broke Back Mountain.

Fo-Sho.

Rolling Stone's Greatest Songs

Say Word?! Can I just say I picked up this issue of Rolling Stone while wasting time at Walgreen's yesterday. HOLY CRAP I'm glad this exists in our world. There was a poll of over 162 artists, labels, and other people in the music industry to come up with this. DUDE! It's legit. The top 20 is full of The Beatles, Bob Dylan, The Rolling Stone's, Elvis, and The Clash. There is timeless, classic concert photography on every stinkin' page. I love it.

Watch my wedding video!

Created by my Man of Honor and baby brother Eric Massey.

Jasper to Birmingham

Jasper to Birmingham was my undergraduate senior project. Basically this was my life for an entire semester.
These are all self-portraits. I was inspired by old family photographs, the 1960's, substance abuse studies, and the Stepford Wives. While struggling with illness self-portraiture became therapeutic for me as well as eye-opening. There is a reality in my photographs that I think will speak to many women.

NEW STUFF

This is my NEW blog, NEW name, and soon to see NEW pictures.
